## Introduction Emergency! Emergency! A ton of nightmares are gathering in one location! I bet they're multiplying like crazy out there! It's a nightmare pleasure party! We want you to get rid of their boss for us! Cut it off at the head, as they say. Go eradicate it. You'll do that for us, right? You know you've gotta kill 'em all, right? Okay, then! See ya later. ## Verse 1 World-devouring beasts wavered in the **darkness**. From where did they spawn? Do they think? Do they feel? Do they live to kill? Whatever the case, if she must** destroy **them, then she hoped they truly were evil. She tossed aside her idle thoughts, and trudged on. The nightmares are wailing. It’s so loud, isn’t it? Kill all of those nasty beasts. ## Verse 2 I was led by the dolls to castle ruins. There, I was confronted with the sight of innumerable nightmares, shadowy and writhing. ## Verse 3 The beasts before me began to dance, fiery with resolve. Did they sense their imminent death? Even if my opponents’ cause was** just**, I would not hesitate to mow them down. The **death** of someone dear to you is a despair no being can overcome. They gathered ever closer, trembling. “Yes, that’s it. This way, I can **slay** you all at once,” I encouraged them, so as not to blunt my attack. ## Verse 4 From deep within the ruins, a creature surged forth with an **eerie **aura. “I know these eyes.” She, too, was a prisoner of her own **impulses**. She identified with their desperate wallowing to avoid facing her own. She felt no pity, but rather **resolve**. She clenched her sword tightly. * * * By her bosom rested a **pocket watch** whose hands spun in a frenzy. Its face emitted a mad torrent of light that harmonized with her **wails**, dazzling as it tried to swallow her whole. Unable to escape, the light took her. The world began to bend and bow, and she found herself standing at the entrance of the **forest** where she had stood long ago. ## Verse 5 Though we were not bound by blood, we came together and spent time together. She became one of **us**. Are you lost, too? Come and sit. You must be lonely. Everyone is at the castle. We’re all family. ## Verse 6 “Let us join hands for our protection,” so said he, before **leaving** my side. We help each other when lonely. We share with each other when happy. That’s how things work around here. ## Verse 7 He sacrificed himself so I could live. And so I gathered brethren with no **kin**, to trust and fulfill their will. It’s different from where I’m from. Our family. The closest family in the whole world. ## Verse 8 "Look. See how our family has grown." "We’re no longer alone,” I said, smiling at the watch **he** left behind. Mother’s treasure. This shiny, broken watch. I’m always, always looking at it. ## Verse 9 Today was the jubilee of our union. Everyone came to prepare for the festivities. Friends who did not even reside with us came to **celebrate**. Today is a big day. A happy day when we all get together. We all put a smile on Mother’s face. ## Verse 10 Hear the death throes of my brethren. I knew this day would come I know how he felt when he saved me. “I’ll protect you…” Why us? Why do you take from us? I’ll protect them. You won’t get any more. I’ll grow the family and get her praise. ## END Forgive me. I could not protect my family. Nor could I protect...the **watch**.
